International wealth and business structuring from Dubai
Tarkia is an international wealth and business structuring consultancy based in Dubai. We work with families and business owners who need to coordinate assets, companies and decisions across the United Arab Emirates, Brazil and Portugal.
Discuss your circumstancesHOW WE WORK
The diagnosis comes before the structure
Every engagement starts with the purpose of the project: continuity, family governance, succession, or the relationship between business and personal assets. Only then do we assess which vehicle, if any, fits the circumstances. A proposal should set out the role of each entity, who is responsible for it, what it will cost to maintain and which facts would change the recommendation.
We do not present any structure as a guarantee of tax exemption or absolute asset protection. Outcomes depend on the applicable law in each country, on the residence of the people involved and on the reporting obligations that follow.
AREAS OF WORK
What we structure, and what each decision carries with it
Structuring is not a catalogue of vehicles. Each area below starts from the same question: what is the structure for, and who will be responsible for keeping it alive.
Formation in a free zone or on the mainland, matched to the activity the company will actually carry out. That choice determines the licence, the substance the company must maintain and the filings it owes each year.
Consolidating shareholdings, organising governance between partners and holding interests that sit in more than one country.
RAK ICC foundations, wills registered in the United Arab Emirates, and the coordination between them and the succession rules that apply in Brazil and Portugal.
Tax residence, the formal exit from the Brazilian tax system, the treaties in force and the reporting obligations that follow a change of residence.
The residence routes linked to a company, to property or to qualification, and what each one requires in order to remain valid.
Preparing the documentation banks request and following the account opening process through, at whichever bank the client chooses. Tarkia is not tied to a single institution.
THREE JURISDICTIONS
The corridor is the unit of analysis
A structure that works in one country and ignores the other two is not a structure. It is an exposure waiting to be priced.
Federal corporate tax applies to financial years beginning on or after 1 June 2023. Free zone regimes can apply a zero rate to qualifying income, subject to adequate substance and audited financial statements. Registration and annual filing remain mandatory either way.
Residents are taxed on worldwide income. Ending Brazilian tax residence is a formal procedure with its own dates and filings, and it is what determines from when the change is recognised.
Residence rules and incentive regimes have to be read together with the Portuguese list of jurisdictions. Under the regime introduced by Law 82/2023, income from entities in listed jurisdictions, the United Arab Emirates included, is taxed at 35 per cent.
WHO WE WORK WITH
Families and business owners spread across more than one country
Most clients are connected to Brazil or Portugal and are either already resident in the United Arab Emirates or considering the move. Their assets, companies and beneficiaries are rarely in the same place, which is what makes the coordination between jurisdictions the actual work. Engagements are carried out in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
